Katherine Heigl speaks with the world on her "white bubble life" and how it has influenced how she raises her adopted multiracial children. The actress "Firefly Lane" told an interviewer that it did not matter how dark her skin color was to her. However, after meeting her adopted Korean American older sister she realized the difference between how others took care of her. "I asked my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner when she went going out with us parents and a different way in the time she was alone without them. She responded "Oh Yes! All the times!" That made me realize that I was naive," Heigl said to parents. She said that she was frustrated, but she felt that she had to channel this anger to support her children. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old spouse, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters from South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in the year 2012.
