Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 as the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts belongs to the Robertses' fourth generation that reside in the Atlanta area beginning by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. The Robertses' father was interested in theater from a young stage. While he was a pupil studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in numerous shows. When he joined in 1953 the Air force and was spotted with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. In 1955, the couple got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple were discharged from the air force and Walter started his education at Tulane. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple their own. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. The couple also had two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the name Julie).
